A very interesting technical dive, Sea bed depth 51m

In April 1944 a convoy of American landing ships were exercising in Lyme Bay prior to the Normandy invasion. Because of what can only be described as a major cock-up, the convoy only had limited protection. German fast attack torpedo boats stormed in to the convoy reeking havoc sinking two ships and badly damaging a third. Such was the scale of the disaster, it was hushed up for a long period after so as not to effect the moral of the allies. Both wrecks lie upside down on the sea bed but there are still things to see. Please also note that these sites are WAR GRAVES so please dive accordingly.
