HMS M2 makes an excellent dive. She sits in approximately 31m with the conning tower at about 25m. The wreck is best dived mid-week as very often a small flotilla of boats sits over it on a busy weekend turning the dive site in to a jacuzzi. Areas such as the hangar are full of silt that gets kicked up very quickly. Take time to go up to the bow, and provided the visibility is half decent, look back at the sub. It looks like it is only resting on the seabed and could spring back to life at any moment. The outer skin of the site is rotting away and is home to conger eels so be careful of putting your little pinkies where they shouldn't be. Please also note that the bodies of sixty men are inside so no crowbars or souvenirs. The site is also a popular fishing site so watch out for fishing line to entangle the unwary diver. Its very easy to get carried away with time on this site as there is plenty to see, so be careful to watch your air gauge and allowing yourself to go in to too much deco. Best to surface by the conning tower on a DSMB.
