Sadly, over seasons, we have been at the brunt end of some inconsiderate divers simply not turning up for dives booked. Obviously this hurts our business and our profits - no profits, no Scimitar Diving. Please read the following Terms and Conditions (we hope written in fairly plain English), and if you have any questions or problems then please do not hesitate to get in touch; as most of you already know, we are friendly enough to talk to!
1. A provisional booking can be made by either email or by phone. Once we have penciled you in, you have a period of 14 days within which to send a deposit. If after that period no deposit has been received, then that provisional booking will be removed from the diary.
2. If the advertised dive is for a specific dive site, then that is where we will try our best to take you. However, if other circumstances out of our control (eg. the weather) preclude us from taking you to that particular dive site, then we will offer you an alternative dive site as best we can - similar in terms of depth at least. If you choose to dive the alternative dive site offered, then you pay; if you choose not to dive that site, then you don’t pay. Simple as that.
3. Cancellation fees:
a. Full boat charter days:
Your deposit will be refunded only if you give us at least 28 days notice of cancellation. Less than 14 days notice and you will forfeit your deposit.
b. Individual bookings:
Your deposit will be refunded only if you give us at least 7 days notice of cancellation. After that time, you will be billed for your booking.
4. We keep a very limited amount of spares on board in order to help keep you diving - let’s face it, accidents do happen from time to time. However, if for some reason you cannot dive due to equipment failure then you will still pay for that dive.
5. We are happy to store kit on board overnight. However, please understand that we are not insured for your equipment and will not be held responsible if it gets damaged, lost or stolen.
On a final note, we are sorry to have to lay down these Terms and Conditions - we honestly thought that we could do without; however, if you genuinely have a problem with a booking already made, please just give us a call - we will apply the rule of common sense to all of the above and we are only too happy to help wherever we can.
Dive Safe,
Smudge & Helena.
